Sabeena Ahmed Liconte, Esq.

Managing Principal

Sabeena has over twenty (20) years of experience working in the legal and compliance industry. She is Managing Principal and Partner of Liconte Law, PC and its affiliate, Castro & Ahmed LLP, a boutique law firm and compliance consulting practice, focusing on corporate law and financial services regulatory compliance. Sabeena's previous professional experience consists of a range of legal, compliance and non-profit services in in-house legal departments, government agencies and non-profits, including  ICBC Standard Bank Group, Bank of China International, E*TRADE Financial Corp., the Office of General Counsel at Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Incorporated, the Division of Enforcement at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the Legal Division of Bank of New York Mellon, the Securities Fraud Prosecution Division of the Attorney General’s Office for the State of New Jersey, the Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District of New York, the Civil Division of the Supreme Court of New York, and the Council on Accreditation.

Sabeena is an active member of the American Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association (including its Committee on Foreign and Comparative Law, the Futures & Derivatives Law and the Business, and Human Rights Working Group), the New Jersey State Bar Association, Futures Industry Association (including serving on the Executive Committee of the Law and Compliance Division) and Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, Political Science and International Relations from the University of Toronto, a Master of Arts in International Relations from Columbia University and a Juris Doctor from the St. John’s University School of Law with a visiting year from Fordham Law School.
