Sabeena Liconte was appointed to serve as a member of the Executive Committee of the Futures Industry Association's ("FIA") Law and Compliance Division. Founded in 1955, the FIA is an advocacy association and a leading global trade organization for the futures, options and centrally cleared derivatives markets, with offices in Brussels, London, Singapore and Washington, D.C. Its membership includes clearing firms, exchanges, clearinghouses, trading firms and commodities specialists from about 50 countries as well as technology vendors, law firms and other professional service providers.
JOINS THE FACULTY OF SPEAKERS AT PLI'S COMPLIANCE AND ETHICS ESSENTIALS

Sabeena Liconte joined the faculty at the Practicing Law Institute’s (“PLI”) Compliance and Ethics Program to present on “Board Oversight and Structure of Compliance Programs,” including effective positioning of the Chief Compliance Officer; empowering compliance professionals throughout the organization; relationships with HR, internal audit and other functions; and best practices in governance/board oversight and support.
PRESENTS TO THE WORLD BANK AND OTHER CENTRAL BANKS ON PRACTICAL APPROACHES TO IMPLEMENT OPERATIONAL RISK MANAGEMENT MODELS

Sabeena Liconte presented to the World Bank and other central bankers at the World Bank’s headquarters in Washington, DC on practical approaches to mitigate operational and non-financial risk and effectively implement operational risk management models within a central bank.

Sabeena Liconte honored as a keynote speaker at the 50th annual anniversary reception of the American Bar Association's Council for Legal Education Opportunities ("ABA CLEO") to discuss the impact of CLEO on the legal profession and to her personally as a member of the bar and former CLEO scholar.
APPOINTED TO CHAIR NYCLA’S FUTURES AND DERIVATIVES COMMITTEE

Sabeena Liconte appointed as chairperson to the New York County Association’s (“NYCLA”) Futures and Derivatives Committee. Founded in 1908, NYCLA has historically been one of the largest and most influential county bar associations in the US legal profession. NYCLA began with 145 founders and has now grown to have more than 8,000 members.
